Can you believe that just a few days ago we had what I thought was the beginnings of spring a couple of Saturdays ago we had guys coming into our shop wearing T shirts mind you I thought they were a little premature and possibly even tempting fate. Well as I wake this morning that’s exactly what’s happened as we have snow!! And apparently we are getting a couple of foot of it.
I’m also starting today to try and lose some of this weight I’ve put on over the last couple of years through eating what I like, and not doing much in the way of exercise. I’m going on holiday in 12 weeks, and I need to shift a couple of stone, as I lack time I thought I would put a gym in my out buildings so this morning is my first day of proper gym work in a few years, bring on the DOMS for the next few days I reckon! Mind you i’m just going to gently ease myself into it not over doing it, as that’s when you end up throwing the towel in slowly slowly catchee monkey they say! Anyway I must go and have a go as my wife is hankering me to get on it!
I’m back! and really quite enjoyed it chest and triceps always used to be Mondays for me so that’s what we did started with some warm up sets of flat bench just with the Olympic bar 1 set of 10 and another set of 20. Then just to ease back into it i did 10 reps on 60 8 0n 80 and 4 on 90 tried a couple on a 100 but couldn’t manage it! I then repped out on the way down taking weights off in multiples of 20 until I reached failure just with the bar and no weight.
Triceps next with some close grip bench presses and after a couple of sets and a few scull crushes finished with some dips I was blowing out of my arse with my triceps totally spent I then decided it was time to do some cardio.
A good walk for 30 minutes incline on 5 at 5km per hourand that was me ready to faint!
I then got myself back to the kitchen and had some Sci-Mx Ultimate breakfast shake which I really enjoyed and gave me just the right amount of protein and carbohydrate I needed for recovery and growth. Hopefully this is my first steps back to being a fitter me I must say I never want to get back to the obsessive bodybuilding mentality that I did for years, as it took over my life it came before my wife, children and my work, which in my book can’t be right but there’s no excuse for me not to keep fit and hopefully fit back into some of my favourite clothing.
