I read on a forum about a guy who was training like a legend through the week, but having it large on a weekend!
Throughout the week I’m extremely self-disciplined on my training session and diet – Having 5-6 meals a day, plenty of water, sessions of weightlifting and cardio in the gym. Nevertheless, as soon as Thursday evening comes about I am inclined to have a couple of beers (or 6) as well as smoke a couple of cigs. Generally I make it over to Friday night as well. By Saturday I’m feeling guilty regarding my indulgence and get back in line fairly hard on Sunday. Ive been doing this cycle for ages now. Do you think I’m loosing tons of my gains through my regular weekend antics.
Some would say it was and is documented as a psychological condition.
That some folk live within this cycle of having it large on a weekend, but being the model of fitness through the week. (Is this just pay back for the weekend of debauchery ?)
Then before you know it the weekend is here again and because they’ve lived 5 days like an Olympic Athlete they’re out having it large what some would call binging!. A vicious cycle maybe and also very common.
In my opinion everything has to have a psychological condition attached to it these days. When we were lads it was just the norm to work like hell through the week and where we lived it was proper work on farms! lifting bails digging holes for fence posts etc all by hand! The if you had time on a night you’d be at a friends shed lifting weights or out cycling. Then when the weekend came ( as long as it wasn’t harvest) we would all be out drinking and just generally having a laugh This is what I would call letting of steam! perfectly normal I would say.
Whats your thoughts?
