THE ANABOLIC SERIES: Part I
Prohormone Cycle Support – What it means to you and why you need it!

The recent surge in availability of legal, over the counter (OTC) designer steroids and prohormones, means that a new age of 21st Century, performance-enhancing and muscle-building supplements that work, are available to anyone in your high street or online stores.
For those of you unaware of designer steroids and prohormones are, they are all derivatives of the anabolic hormone testosterone (typically in a capsule, pill and more recently in a skin lotion). Traditionally, gym users looking for the ‘anabolic edge’ would need to inject illegal versions of the compounds directly into the muscle belly, sometimes several times a week: risking infections, abscesses and the prosecution by the law.
The staff Maximum Sports Nutrition. don’t recommend that anyone administer these compounds until they have reached physical maturity (normally 18-21 years old), however we can offer a superb selection of natural sports supplements that we’re sure you’ll see excellent results from.
These supplements are not designed for year-round use, a ‘cycle’ of a set number of weeks, complete with prohormone cycle support, followed by time off to recover is recommended. With a correctly built cycle, exceptional diet and great training program, prohormones and designer steroids can really speed up the transformation process from average Joe to a body Adonis would be proud of in often only a few weeks.
We advise all customers for their own safety to please contact Maximum Sports Nutrition or get in touch with a member of staff for professional advice on prohormones or designer steroids cycles before attempting to administer these compounds as part of your training regime.
What is Prohormone Cycle Support?
If used in a safe manner, prohormones and designer steroids can be used very safely and users often suffer few, if any side effects. Cycle support supplements are designed to counteract these side effects effectively and from our experience, customers who’ve invested in a great cycle support and pct cycle regime will recover the fastest, have a superb cycle, suffer virtually no side effects and maintain their gains after discontinuing the prohormone cycle
What Problems could I face if I don’t use Prohormone Cycle Support?
i). Liver Toxicity
To allow prohormones to survive in the body long enough to get to your muscles and do their magic they are chemically altered to survive the detoxifying capabilities of the liver (methylation). This unfortunately places some stress on the liver itself and users can be left with elevated liver enzyme readings in a similar way that a heavy night of drinking would. Continued abuse without adequate protection could lead to severe liver damage requiring medical treatment.
ii). Elevated blood pressure
Using prohormones and designer steroids typically elevates one’s normal blood pressure whilst on-cycle, normally manifested initially as headaches. However, as most people are aware, high blood pressure is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease. If you suffer with this issue before commencing a cycle of prohormones and designer steroids, definitely take extra steps to ensure your diet is cardio protective (advice can be provided by the staff at Maximum Sports Nutrition ).
iii). Changes in blood lipids (fats)
Another side effect from using prohormones and designer steroids is an alteration in the ratio between ‘good’ cholesterol (HDL) and ‘bad’ cholesterol (LDL). Having a high LDL:HDL ratio places the trainee at a high risk of developing coronary heart disease (atherosclerosis) and again, is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Lipid profiles tend to return to normal relatively quickly post-cycle for most users, but taking adequate precautionary steps on-cycle can help protect the user against this effect.
iv) Prostate Enlargement
Increasing the amount of testosterone in the body can cause an increase in prostate mass (a gland beneath the testicles). This is normally indicated by difficulties urinating (frequency), pain or hesitancy when wishing to urinate. In serious cases, permanent prostate enlargement is only reversible by surgery.

A new staple in many trainee’s regimes.
Fish Oil (Omega-3 fatty acids) – The list is almost endless in terms of the benefits of fish oils, anti-inflammatory effects, anti-oxidant abilities, lipid protection, blood pressure modification, skin integrity…you name it, it does it! Everyone should be using fish oil, and on-cycle is no better time to start.
Chondroitin/Glucosamine – Some trainees find that prohormones and designer steroids induce some joint pain with movement due to a reduction in oestrogen on-cycle. Chondroitin and Glucosamine are excellent for reducing the inflammation associated with joint movement and keep you training hard!
